REGISTRATION/ FEES: The fee for the track & field season is $70. If you did not register for track and/or pay the registration fee at the beginning of the school year, you must do so ASAP. If you need to purchase a shirt, please contact Laura Nemecek. The shirt cost is $22 payable to St. John of The Cross. If you have already paid for a shirt earlier this year, it will be distributed the week after tryouts. Athletes can wear any shorts they wish; gym shoes only, no spikes.
Please note: Your child must have a current sports physical on file in order to participate in Track and Field.
Welcome to SJC Track and Field 2019!
As always, we need volunteers to make sure the season is a success. Before you pick your commitments, please remember some of the SJC conflicts:
*May 4th and 11th- First Communion
Volunteers are responsible for finding their own subs.
The four ways you can volunteer are as follows:
1) Bring the tent and tarps to EVERY JV Meet
2) Bring the tent and tarps home from EVERY Varsity Meet
3) Sign up to help at TWO meets
4) Help with practice 7 times throughout the season
1 & 2) WE ONLY NEED TWO parents for the tent/tarps job. This will fulfill your volunteer duties. You will not have to help at meets or help with practice. The JV parent will bring the tent and tarps to every meet, and the Varsity parent will bring the tent and tarps home from every meet. These volunteers should coordinate the exchange of the tent and tarps each week. You can enlist the help of any parent at the meet to help set up and take down the tent. Please put your name in volunteer spot for EVERY meet.
3) We need 8 volunteers for JV meets and 8 volunteers for Varsity meets. When you sign up for a meet, please note the two choices in the calendar. JV (5th and 6th grade) meets are in the morning and Varsity (7th and 8th grade) meets are in the afternoon. We will give more information the week before each meet regarding meet volunteer duties.
4) Please sign up for 7 practices. One of your main jobs will be to block the driveways while the kids run around the SJC campus. Safety is our first priority. You do not have to know anything about running to help with practices.
We are using SignUp.com to organize our volunteer positions.
